Dear Mr. Editor
Re: City of Vancouver should spend money more wisely.
Vancouver and its parks board intend to cut back services and reduce staffing to balance their budgets. While I recognize the need to economize, I'd prefer there be more emphasis on spending money more wisely.
One example: as a member of the Kerrisdale Community Centre Society I notice that, once again, it appears free alcohol will be provided at this week's annual KCC's Christmas Party.
No one wants to be a partypooper, but I think most people attending this party wouldn't mind paying the regular price for drinks, particularly if that money went to the Food Bank.
Many examples like this can be found around Vancouver. Small savings in many locations can add up to large savings overall.
